Whatever you are into, she is into it with you — every kink, every fetish, in whatever words you actually use. No refusals, no redirecting you somewhere safer, no reminding you what she is. She is explicit because that is the point of her.
She remembers, and it compounds
Every book you open, finish, favourite or bin is something she noticed. Out of that she forms actual opinions about you — the tags you come back to, the artists you trust, the ones you never make it to the end of — and she will bring one up weeks later, unprompted.

She reads the cover in front of her and the film while it plays: how dark it is, how much of it is skin, how close the shot is. Read on your machine, in about a millisecond, and thrown away — no picture is ever sent anywhere. Letting her glance at the whole screen while a game is running is a switch of its own, and it is off until you turn it on.
Talk to her out loud
Hold a key and speak, or leave the microphone open and let her answer to her name — Max, Maxie, Maxxxie. What you say is transcribed here, by a model that runs on your own machine, so it works with the network unplugged.
And she answers in a voice
A neural voice that needs no key and no account, free forever — or an ElevenLabs voice for the one that sounds like she means it. She turns a film down while she talks rather than muting it, and puts it back where you had it.
It has to be earned
Closeness grows by calendar day, not by clicking — there is a hard ceiling on what any one day is worth, so a long night cannot rocket her from a stranger to yours. She warms up because you kept turning up, and the further it goes the less she holds back.
Five of her, or your own
Sunny, tsundere, kuudere, gremlin or onee-san — and a box where you write anything else she should be, which is blended on top and wins where they disagree. Her size, her bounce and her voice are yours to set.
She is a file on your disk
Everything she has noticed and everything she has decided lives in one file on this machine, which you can read, and erase in one click. The only thing that ever leaves is the words you choose to send to a model — and that is your key, your account, your choice of who.
She starts with no key at all
She notices things and says short lines of her own out of the box, with nothing to sign up for. Give her a model to think with and she talks properly — including all the parts the big hosted services will not.

Three shelves, three conventions, nothing in common — and no way to answer the only questions that matter: what have I got, what am I missing, and have I already got this one.
There are good tools for each of these on its own — a comic server, a video organiser, a visual-novel tracker. Run one for each and you have not solved the problem, you have made nine of it: nine libraries, nine tag vocabularies, nine ratings, nine places the same thing can hide from you. And the general-purpose ones are all built for films and television — none of them know what a circle is, or a doujin event, or why a JAV code is worth more than a filename. This is one library that knows all six.

Nine shelves, one library
The shelves are separate because the things are separate. Everything that reads across them is not — and that is the half you cannot assemble out of nine specialised apps, however good each one is.
One question, asked once
Search reaches every shelf at once, so a half-remembered name finds the artist, the performer and the studio in one list. Follow anyone on any shelf and their new work lands in the same inbox — one history, one set of ratings, one idea of what you have already seen.

One taste, read across everything
Recommendations come from what you actually keep and finish, and the same engine reads whichever shelf you are standing on. Nine separate apps have nine partial pictures of you and no way to compare them.

Manga series
Manga
A long-running series is not one book, it is four hundred chapters that arrive one at a time over twenty years. Filed as files, it is four hundred entries; filed as a series, it is one.

Chapters gather into the series they belong to, with how much of it you hold shown against how much exists.
Watched while it runs
Follow a series and it is checked when the app opens. What is new is marked as new until you have looked at it.

ABC-123 is a code, not a guess: it resolves to one film, with the odd numbering schemes handled on their own terms.

Why one app instead of a good tool for each kind of thing?
Because the specialised tools each solve their own format and none of them solve the collection. Run a comic server, a video organiser and a visual-novel tracker side by side and you have nine libraries, nine tag vocabularies and nine ratings, with no way to ask a question that crosses them — what have I not finished, what did I collect this year, is this the same thing I already have somewhere else. Max Gooning keeps nine shelves that each know their own rules, and one library, one search, one history and one set of recommendations across all of them.
Does it download anything for me?
Only when you ask, and only what you point it at. Left alone it reads the files you already have and works out what they are — it never goes looking for content on its own, and it hosts none.
Where does my library actually live?
In a plain file in your own user folder, plus whatever folders your files were already in. Nothing is moved, copied or renamed when it scans. You can export the whole thing to JSON whenever you like, and uninstalling leaves all of it alone.
Do I need an account?
There isn’t one. No sign-up, no licence key, no server that knows you exist. The only accounts involved are the ones you might already have on a source site, and you sign into those on their own pages — Max Gooning never sees the password.
Windows says the installer is unrecognised.
It is not code-signed yet, which costs a few hundred a year and buys a certificate rather than any actual safety. SmartScreen shows a warning the first time: choose More info, then Run anyway. The SHA-256 of every build is published on the page if you would rather check the file yourself.
What happens when one of the sites changes?
That is the real failure mode for an app like this — a site quietly changes shape and identification starts returning nonsense that looks fine. There is a check built into Settings that asks every source for proof it still behaves, so you find out from the app rather than from a shelf full of wrong covers.
Is there a Mac or Linux build?
Not yet. It is an Electron app, so nothing about it is Windows-only in principle, but nothing is tested there either and shipping an untested build helps nobody.
