Three shelves, three conventions, nothing in common — and no way to answer the only questions that matter: what have I got, what am I missing, and have I already got this one.
Every app that could answer them is built for films and television. None of them know what a circle is, or a doujin event, or why a JAV code is worth more than a filename. This one does.

Five shelves, five sets of rules
A book is not an episode and an episode is not a dance. Each shelf knows what its own things are, and refuses to pretend otherwise.
Doujinshi & manga

The printed half of a stash, and the one with the most to keep track of — who drew it, which circle, which event it was sold at, and which volume you are missing.
Identified, not guessed
Paste a link or point it at a folder. nhentai, hitomi.la and hentaiera fill in the artist, circle, tags and pages.

No invented series
Similar filenames do not become episodes one to five. A dance is a dance.

Everything here has a code on it, which makes identification exact — and makes the women on the shelf the natural way to browse it.

ABC-123 resolves against javdatabase and javbus, with FC2 and HEYZO handled on their own terms.

A real page per performer: measurements, debut, a bar chart of her career on your shelf, and how much of her work you hold.

Nobody else needs to know
There is no account to make and no server to sign in to. Maxgooning keeps your library in a plain file on your own disk, talks only to the sites it is identifying against, and sends nothing anywhere else — no analytics, no sync, no “anonymous usage data”. Uninstalling removes the program and leaves the collection exactly where it was.
The questions people actually ask
Does it download anything for me?
Only when you ask. Paste a link and it will fetch that gallery; hit a torrent on the JAV shelf and it will pull the film. Left alone it reads the files you already have and asks databases what they are — it never goes looking for content on its own.
Where does my library actually live?
In a plain file in your own user folder, plus whatever folders your files were already in. Nothing is moved, copied or renamed when it scans. You can export the whole thing to JSON whenever you like, and uninstalling leaves all of it alone.
Do I need an account?
There isn’t one. No sign-up, no licence key, no server that knows you exist. The only accounts involved are the ones you might already have on a source site, and you sign into those on their own pages — Maxgooning never sees the password.
Windows says the installer is unrecognised.
It is not code-signed yet, which costs a few hundred a year and buys a certificate rather than any actual safety. SmartScreen shows a warning the first time: choose More info, then Run anyway. The SHA-256 of every build is published on the page if you would rather check the file yourself.
What happens when one of the sites changes?
That is the real failure mode for an app like this — a site quietly changes shape and identification starts returning nonsense that looks fine. There is a check built into Settings that asks every source for proof it still behaves, so you find out from the app rather than from a shelf full of wrong covers.
Is there a Mac or Linux build?
Not yet. It is an Electron app, so nothing about it is Windows-only in principle, but nothing is tested there either and shipping an untested build helps nobody.
